Robert "Buzz" W. Salisbury Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Robert “Buzz” W. Salisbury, 82, Goshen, went to be with his Lord and Savior unexpectedly 9:51 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Goshen Hospital. He was born July 4, 1939, in Goshen, to Howard E. & Geraldine L. (Twiford) Salisbury. On October 3, 1959, he married Mary Jeanette (Berkey) Salisbury. Surviving are his wife, Mary Jeanette, sons, Stephen R. (Jodi) Salisbury, Scott R. Salisbury, 3 grandchildren, Brittany (Trent Cook) Salisbury, Jonathan Salisbury, Olivia Salisbury, a great-grandson, Jaxon Salisbury, all of Goshen, nieces & nephews and a daughter-in-law, Lynda Linton, Goshen. Preceding him in death are his parents and sister, Shirley Hilbish. Robert started Bard Industries in 1979 and was the president until his son’s took over where he continued to work for Central Rubber & Plastic until the day he passed away. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Robert sang in the “Men of Music” group and also in the choir at First United Methodist Church with his son and daughters-in-law. He was also involved with the Emmaus Community. Most recently, attending the First Baptist Church, Elkhart. He was a member of JA of Northern Indiana-Elkhart County, longtime member of Kiwanis and became a Lieutenant Governor. Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1962. Robert enjoyed fishing, riding bikes and tried to golf but most of all he enjoyed being with his family. They were the most important thing to him. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandson and would sing to them. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Rieth Rohrer Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen. Also, one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at First United Methodist Church, 214 S. 5th St., Goshen. Pastor Phil Byars and Pastor Diana Siegel will officiate.
