Donna J. Peebles, 89, Goshen, died 8:17 a.m. Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Goshen Hospital. She was born October 22, 1932, in Rockford, Illinois, to John & Kathleen (Surrerier) Frewin. On September 20, 1952, in Rockford, she married John A. Peebles Sr. and he died March 29, 2015. Surviving are a son, John A. (Donna) Peebles Jr., Elkhart, daughters, Karla Chester, Loves Park, Illinois, Lola (William) Brainard, Warren, Illinois, Karen Chester, Goshen, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a brother, Robert Frewin, Rockford, Illinois. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband John, 2 grandsons, Cody Chester & Aaron Chester and a sister, Mary Lou Brady. Donna retired from Elkhart County Juvenile Detention Center as a teacher’s aide. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Goshen. Donna enjoyed playing cards, specifically Hollywood, gardening and playing slots. She had the honor of serving as a flower girl in her granddaughter’s wedding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Faith Lutheran Church, Goshen. Rev. Jessica King will officiate.
