Dennis F. Kehr

Dennis F. Kehr, 73, Elkhart & Wakarusa, died Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Beardsley Health Campus in Elkhart. He was born April 24, 1948, in Elkhart, to Bob L. & Mary Rose (Yoder) Kehr. Surviving are good friends, Rick Posthuma, Fred Heerschop, Gregg Choler and Ronald Gember along with many others in Indiana and Florida. Preceding him in death are his parents and a brother, Bryon Kehr. Dennis received his bachelor’s degree in June 1971 and his master’s degree in August 1976 from Indiana University. He taught elementary school, 4th and 5th grade, for 32 years, first at Weston and then at Riverview schools in Elkhart. Dennis served in the US Army Reserves for 6 ½ years. Dennis always enjoyed the sunshine and warm weather. He made every effort to get to Florida for school breaks and has wintered in Port Charlotte & Lauderhill, Florida, since his retirement. Dennis was a classic car lover his whole life and has owned many. His favorite being his 1957 Ford Thunderbird, which he has had for 38 years. Private graveside services will be held at Olive (West) Cemetery.
